CIA Operates Drones in Mexico to Combat Cartels

Mexican officials confirm drones, say that they do not violate national airspace.

The Central Intelligence Agency is using drones in Mexico for surveillance of transnational drug cartels. President Trump’s administration recently designated 8 cartels and gangs as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

A CIA spokesperson said, “Countering drug cartels in Mexico and regionally is a priority for CIA as a part of the Trump Administration’s broader efforts to end the grave threat from narco-trafficking. Director Ratcliffe is determined to put CIA’s unique expertise to work against this multifaceted challenge.”

The Mexican defense minister said that the CIA drones “did not violate national airspace.”

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said, “The important thing here… is that they share information with the Government of Mexico.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Ratcliffe as he heads the Central Intelligence Agency.
  • For CIA officials as they deploy drones for surveillance on the cartels in Mexico.
